Katherine Hayes, MD is the medical director of pediatric & adolescent gynecology at Primary Children's Hospital and the University of Utah. She completed her obstetrics & gynecology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (Wilford Hall and Brooke Army Medical Center, now San Antonio Military Medical Center). She then served as an active duty Air Force obstetrician/gynecologist for 4 years spending time at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany and San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.
Following her time in the Air Force, Dr. Hayes completed her fellowship in pediatric & adolescent gynecology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Hayes enjoys caring for all pediatric and adolescent gynecologic conditions including abnormal bleeding, painful periods, pelvic pain, pediatric vulvar complaints, pelvic masses, reproductive tract anomalies, pediatric endocrine disorders (precocious puberty, delayed puberty, premature ovarian insufficiency, polycystic ovarian syndrome), oncofertility, disorders of sexual differentiation, and transgender gynecologic care. Her clinical research focuses on improving care for patients born with congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract and complex pelvic malformations, as well as quality improvement in the field of pediatric & adolescent gynecology.
