Gylynthia Elaine Trotman, MD MPH is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Within the Mount Sinai Health System/Kravis Children’s Hospital, Dr. Trotman serves as Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
Dr. Trotman holds a master's degree in public health and received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical College. She completed her residency in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, followed by a Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center/Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. Prior to returning Mount Sinai to establish a Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Dr. Trotman served as a faculty member within Boston Children’s Health Physicians/Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Westchester, New York and the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Over her career, she has worked collaboratively to develop a number of quality improvement initiatives, and played an integral role in the educational training and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows and colleagues.
Dr. Trotman has received numerous awards during her career. She was inducted into the honor societies for both medicine and public health, Alpha Omega Alpha and Delta Omega respectively and has received national recognition as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. Within the NASPAG she was a founding member and former Chair of the Fellows Research Consortium, past Chair of the Research Committee and is the current Program Chair for the NASPAG 2024 38th Annual Clinical and Research Meeting. Dr. Trotman has published and lectured extensively on complex reproductive issues among the pediatric and adolescent population. She is dedicated to increasing reproductive health literacy and optimize patient and family experience through education and advocacy for a diverse population.
