Amanda Verhaak is a Clinical Social Worker at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Since moving to Dallas, TX, Amanda has worked in the medical social work field, first with youth diagnosed with diabetes, and now with transgender and gender-nonconforming youth. Due to SB14 going into effect on September 1st, 2023, Amanda's primary focus has been on finding, gathering, and distributing resources for gender-affirming out of state care for youth under 18 years old. Amanda has always been passionate about the LGBTQIA+ community and feels very grateful to help these families during this confusing and challenging time.
