Dr. See Wan Tham, MBBS, MS is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She is a pediatric anesthesiologist and pain physician, providing clinical services on the Inpatient Pain Service, and the multidisciplinary Pain Management and Pelvic Pain Clinics at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. Tham’s research is focused on elucidating the complex mechanisms underlying the sleep-pain relationship in pediatric populations. She is a Principle Investigator at the Pediatric Pain & Sleep Innovation Lab at Seattle Children’s Research Institute Center for Child Health Behavior and Development. Her current work is funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases K23 Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award, to delineate the longitudinal trajectories of sleep patterns and behaviors, autonomic dysfunction and pain symptoms in adolescents with functional abdominal pain. Dr. Tham received her MB BS at the University of Sydney, Australia followed by anesthesiology residency at the State University of New York (Syracuse), and pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
