Elizabeth M. Alderman, MD is Professor of Pediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Chief, Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. She is Program Director of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine and past program director of the Pediatrics Residency Program.
Dr. Alderman received her BS from Cornell University and MD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School. Dr. Alderman completed her pediatrics residency and adolescent medicine fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Alderman is a past-President of NASPAG was Program Chair for the 2013 ACRM. She is currently the Co-Chairperson of the AAP Council on Adolescents and Young Adults. She was Chair of the AAP Committee on Adolescence from 2019 to 2023 and served on the Committee for 6 years, previously. She was Chairperson of the AAP Section of Adolescent Health Executive Committee from 2008-2012. She is a former Member at Large of the Board of Directors for the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine.
Dr. Alderman’s clinical interests include adolescent reproductive health care, menstrual disorders, contraception for medically complex adolescents and eating disorders.
