Dr. Vash-Margita graduated from the Uzhgorod State University School of Medicine in Ukraine and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. After graduating residency, she worked in private practice and later as an Attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT.
While working as general Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Vash-Margita developed a passion for taking care of young female patients with gynecologic problems. It is Dr. Vash-Margita’s firm belief that young girls truly benefit from care by a Gynecologist with specialized training in gynecologic conditions that may occur from birth into childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood.
In order to obtain such expertise, Dr. Vash-Margita pursued fellowship training in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology which she completed at the University of Michigan.
Alla Vash-Margita is currently serving as a Chief of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Division and is an Associate Professor at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. She is proud to be part of the Department with rich history in reproductive science research and clinical work.
Dr. Vash-Margita focuses on congenital anomalies of the female reproductive tract, pelvic pain in adolescent females in general and endometriosis, fertility preservation, polycystic ovary syndrome in adolescents, abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception, vulvar dermatoses, ovarian pathology, and childhood ovarian cancers.
She is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG). She is the NASPAG Board member at large and the co-Chair of the NASPAG ACRM Abstract Review Committee. She is the past Chair of the NASPAG Research Network through which she is actively involved in clinical research.
