Alvin Goldfarb Lectureship

This lecture has been designated in honor of Dr. Alvin Goldfarb to provide an educational lecture on a topic pertaining to sexual health of the adolescent patient.

Dr. Alvin Goldfarb served as the first Executive Director of NASPAG. He was responsible for coordinating the first international meeting in the United States focused on Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology (PAG).  This meeting was part of the international society for PAG, viz. FIGIJ (Federation Internationale de Gynecologie Infantile et Juvenile).

Dr Goldfarb’s background included resident training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, followed by training under Dr. Abraham Rakoff in the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.  Dr Goldfarb served as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jefferson Medical College where he created an environment to assist healthcare providers in offering specialized services for the gynecologic care of pediatric and young aged patients. He was a “galvanizer” when it came to provision of gynecologic care in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.
